I grew up visiting the border towns in the very southern reach of Texas, meeting the people of Tamualipas, my imagination shaped by Matamoros, Progreso, San Benito, Harlingen, Brownsville, Port Isabel. Names that have scents, faces, accents, tienditas, campos, puentes, memories.

These have become places of violence against families, refugees, sojourners. The memory is charred, blurred by mistrust.

I wrote 5 new works of textural music with the spirit of these places in mind. You can pay what you like for these songs, they are ideal for listening while working, praying, writing letters, reading maps, looking through old photographs.

Every dollar generated by what you choose to pay for these sounds will go to RAICES Texas, to fund legal aid for those seeking refuge and asylum, especially those families sundered by recent government actions. I will periodically post donation receipts as sales come in, and you are always welcome to contact me to see your donation deposited.
